Join us for an evening with Ambassador Pat Gates Lynch Ewell,an ANWC member, former U.S. ambassador to Madagascar and the Federal Republic of the Comoros.

In her autobiography, "Thanks for Listening,"Pat chronicles her impressive career that began with NBC and made her the most popular broadcaster with Voice of America with her program "Breakfast Show" that reached an audience of more than 45 million. Pat also served as press assistant to First Lady Pat Nixon and accompanied her to many foreign capitals.

Retired Supreme Court Justice wrote: "Pat created a splendid career for herself at a time when women were seldom heard as broadcasters."

One of the nation's oldest press clubs, The American News Women's Club is a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) offering educational and professional development programs in support of women in the journalism and communications professions. The annual ANWC "Helen Thomas Award" benefit gala awards annual scholarships to journalism schools. In 2003, the organization was named an historic site in journalism by the National Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ).
